·A full refund will be given for direct bookings (does not include special events or special contract rates, e.g. weddings) on our website if cancelled at least 10 days prior to arrival (e.g. if you are scheduled to arrive on September 20, the latest possible time to cancel would be September 9 11:59pm for a full refund)
·A 50% refund will be given for direct bookings on our website if cancelled at least 5 days prior to arrival.
·Only cleaning and pet fees (if applicable) will be refunded on direct bookings if cancelled within 5 days up to check-in time on the day of arrival.
·No refund issued for cancellations on direct bookings after check-in time (3pm ET) or no-shows.
·For direct bookings, if your card is declined for the final payment, the host will send a reminder message with new payment link. If payment is not made within 48 hours, the reservation will be canceled and the initial 20% deposit will not be refunded.
·Please review cancellation policies for bookings made through Airbnb, VRBO, Google and others on their respective platforms.
·We do not make exceptions to the cancellation policy for any reason.
In the event that heavy snow or prolonged sub 20°F temperatures are forecast, we may need to cancel reservations for safety reasons. Full refunds will be issued when this happens.
Weather events in other areas of the country but not affecting Mountain Shire will not warrant a refund (e.g. wildfire in North Carolina, flooding in Virginia, or snow storm in Kentucky)

Yes, dogs and cats are welcome! Please pay the pet fee while making the reservation (it can be found under the 'Extras' section). The fee is either $79 (houses #1 through #8) or $99 (houses #9 through #11).The fee covers up to two dogs/cats for the entire stay. Pets must be crated while alone in the tiny house. Max weight of 75 lbs. Larger dogs are discouraged.
Certified service animals (as defined by the ADA) are welcome at no additional charge. Emotional support animals (ESAs) require the pet fee. We don't make exceptions.
*The tiny house has hot and cold water. The hot water tank provides enough hot water for a 6-7 minute shower.
*Roku TVs are in each tiny house. You will need to log on to your streaming apps to watch television and movies. Roku TVs do have free channels and streaming apps available.
*The tiny houses are cooled and heated via a mini-split system.
*Each tiny house has a Keurig coffee machine and hot-water kettle. Some coffee and tea supplies will be provided.
No. Our houses are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed through any book, movie, or franchise. They are independently designed and operated by us.
All of the tiny houses are located on the lower level of the property behind the 'Hobbit' wall. Please park in one of the provided parking spaces and then walk through the hobbit wall. The description and specific location of your house will be provided in the check-in instructions sent to the email provided.

Yes, firewood and kindling are provided. You will also be provided a lighter.
Events/parties inside of individual tiny houses are not allowed. We occasionally allow for the entire property to be booked/reserved by a single group. However, this is on a case-by-case basis. We are not able to accommodate ceremonies or visitors who are not staying on the property. Please reach out to Justin with your specific request - justin@mountainshiretn.com
There is a larger fire pit located towards the road on the lower lot. We also have two patio areas, deck in the woods over the gully, and a pergola and a propane BBQ grill located on the lower level. Everything is first come, first serve.
